Client Process

I want to make sure that you have a clear picture of what to expect. I want you to feel confident that working with me will meet your needs. Things get much easier and smoother after your financial plan is complete. Deep breath! You’re in good hands.

Pleased to Meet You

Meetings (15 & 20 minutes)

This is a two part process. The first step is an intro call where we get to know each other. I want to get a good sense of your concerns with your finances. We'll address every question that you have. Then I’ll tell you a little bit about me, my philosophy and process, and next steps. Don't feel pressure to know exactly what to say, or articulate what you need. I’ll ask some guiding questions to help us establish some ideas. Please ask any questions that are on your mind.

Step 2 is a video meeting. We will talk about your particular situation and clearly define your needs. Your priorities matter, and we need to make sure that they are reflected in your financial plan. I'll make recommendations on what I feel would be the best way forward. I provide a couple of options, and what the cost will be. At the end of our chat you decide if you would like to move forward.

This process is very important to me. I want you to feel confident that you are making the right choice in hiring me. These meetings require no obligation, and  have no charge.

Determine What Matters

(45-60 minutes)

Prior to this meeting, you will submit all your info to be included in the financial plan. We are going to clearly specify all of your goals, plans, hopes, and concerns in this meeting. By the end of this meeting we will have a clear picture of the goals and expectations that you have for today, and for your future.

Risk! The Goldilocks Problem

(30-45 min)

We will determine what kind of investment allocation is the best fit for what will make you comfortable, while also factoring in your goals, age, time horizon, etc. This is also an educational meeting about stock market performance and what to do if you need to change your risk profile.

Plan presentation

(60-90 minutes, depending on the complexity of the plan.)

This is the best part! We will answer all of your financial questions. You will learn if you are on track. If you aren't on track there will be suggestions to help you get there. You will also get a list of items to complete to help you implement the plan.

Ongoing Service

At this point, if you have chosen the ongoing service model, you get ongoing support and guidance from me to keep your plan working. A newsletter, economic updates, answered questions, calmed fears, financial advice, classes, plan updates… the list goes on. While I would love to have you as an ongoing client it is not the right fit for everyone. We will create the service model that best meets your needs. I will have a suggested timeline for you to follow with how often your plan needs an update, or if we should get together.

Annual check-up

If you are an ongoing client we will have a check-up on plan progress at least once per year. We’ll add any needed updates, and make sure that everything is still on track. If it’s not, we’ll take steps to get back on the right path. If you are a project or hourly client I will reach out to see if you need anything.
