The Best Home Improvement Project
COVID-19 has made almost everyone stay home more than ever before. It has been great to be able to slow down the pace of life, and spend more time with our families. My girls are really young, so it’s been great for my husband to be able to be home more, and see a lot of the milestones that he missed with our first kiddo. Another area that is front of mind as we are home more often, is all of the projects that we have been wanting to get done. They are glaringly obvious! If I have to be home the majority of the time, then I want to make it as nice as possible. I’m not the only one thinking this way. I don’t think that I have a single friend or family member that hasn’t been working on some kind of home improvement project.
The workers at our local Home Depot say that they have never been busier. The store has a really difficult time keeping all of the items in stock that everyone wants. It’s so great that we can finally get to the long list of honey-dos that we have been putting off for years. It’s great to plan the project, get the materials, and start to see it come together. It’s a bright spot that I’ve seen as a result of the stay-at-home orders. People are putting a ton of effort into getting their home in order. They want to make it the number one place to be. It is a very high priority to a lot of people right now. I Think that’s great, but let’s make sure that we aren’t leaving out the most important aspects of home improvement. Do not leave out the financial aspect of a comfortable and welcoming home. Don’t put off that project!
I am sure that there are many more financial projects on your plate than home improvement projects. They are easier to ignore because other people can’t see them, but they are a lot more important than staining the deck! When you are thinking about improving your home, this is an area that will make it feel a lot more comfortable. The pandemic has caused a lot of changes in spending and incomes that need to be considered. Make a list of all the things that need your attention, and let’s see if we can’t complete those projects too.
